“Texas Lawmakers Propose More than doubling the minimum wage. Do you agree?” | Click2Houston
Rep. Armando Walle (D-HD 140) represents part of North Houston. He filed H.B. 193, which if passed and created law, would increase the minimum wage to $15 per hour.
“Each representative has a responsibility to craft a legislative portfolio that responds to the needs of their constituents, and I take that job seriously,” Rep. Walle said in a statement on Tuesday. “Over the interim, I met with families, teachers, business-owners, advocates and experts in my district to determine how I can best serve the people of HD 140. It is an honor to pre-file legislation today that I sincerely believe will foster economic opportunity, improve health outcomes and support the Texas families that call North Houston/Aldine home.”
“Texas Democrat argues party doesn't need a full-on reset, just better messaging” | WFAA
State Representative Armando Walle, D-Houston, has had several days to ponder what went wrong for Democrats on Nov. 5.

“Our policies are correct. Our policies are right. We just have a messaging issue that we need to correct,” Rep. Walle told us on Inside Texas Politics. “I’m not going to lay blame on anybody. We have to collectively regroup and get back on it.”
“Texas representative files bill to raise minimum wage in the state again” | KRLD
Right now, the minimum wage in Texas is $7.25, and that was a raise from 2009. State Representative Armando Walle of Houston believes that there's no way a person can live on that in this time of age.
"So you can't pay your rent adequately, or you can't pay your electricity bill, or you're floating that electricity bill and trying to catch up gas in your car," Walle said.
