Rep. Armando Walle Named to Conference Committee for State Budget
(TEXAS) – Today, Rep. Armando Walle (HD 140) was named to the conference committee on House Bill 1, the state budget. The conference committee will work over the final weeks of session to resolve the differences between the House and Senate versions of the budget.
Rep. Walle released the following statement on the appointment:
“I am honored to be once again named to the conference committee for the state budget. We did a lot of great work on the bill in the Appropriations Committee on the House side -- particularly in my Subcommittee on Articles VI, VII & VIII, where we made critical investments in flood control infrastructure, skills development training, child care and state employee salary increases across the board.
“But have a lot of work left to do, and we have more investments to make to ensure all Texans will share in this year’s historic surplus.
“Thank you to Speaker Phelan and Chairman Bonnen for their confidence in me and for the opportunity.”
