Rep. Armando Walle Statement on 89th Session Committee Assignments
(Austin, TEXAS) – Today, Speaker Dustin Burrows announced committee assignments for the 89th Session of the Texas House of Representatives. Rep. Armando Walle D-Houston), who is in his ninth term representing House District 140, was named to the House Committees on Appropriations and Licensing and Administrative Procedures.
Rep. Armando Walle released the following statement in response:
“I first came to the Texas Legislature in 2009 to help my community back home. And I keep coming back because there is lots of work left to do for House District 140. I am grateful to Speaker Burrows for my placement on committees this Session that set me up to represent the needs of families across North Houston and Harris County.
“I have spent five terms as a member of the Appropriations Committee (and served two terms as a Subcommittee Chairman and three times as a Conferee), and I am thankful for the opportunity to once again work on the state budget. As always, I pledge to collaborate with my colleagues across the building and the aisle to make meaningful investments in the areas of the state that need it most — like water infrastructure, child care and public education.”
“Let’s get to work.”
